Monday, December 16, UNL Extension will be hosting an educational event focused on current research addressing the use of cover crops, crop residues and harvested forages in cow-calf production systems. Cost of the program is $15. Please register by Friday, December 13 for a meal count. Speakers at this meeting include:
Dr. Huberto Blanco - Cover Crop implications for crop production, soils and water use.
Dr. Jim MacDonald - How cover crops can fit in a beef production systems.
Dr. Rick Rasby - Testing forages, pricing inputs and grazing corn stalks.
Keith Glewen - Grazing corn stalks and impact on subsequent grain production.
Dr. Randle - Reducing and preventing health problems at calving.
