Amy R. Willman is an American Sign Language Coordinator and lecturer. She teaches American Sign Language in the Department of Special Education and Communication Disorders.

Ms. Willman studied and received her bachelor’s degree from Gallaudet University, the only deaf university in the world. She then continued her studies at Western Maryland College, where she received her master’s degree. She taught elementary school for three years before she began teaching American Sign Language at Santa Fe Community College. She is a certified member of the American Sign Language Teacher Association. Before moving back to her childhood home here in Nebraska, she was a resident of New Mexico where she taught American Sign Language and deaf culture at the college level. She brings many years experience teaching American Sign Language and has direct experience with deaf culture. She and her mother have co-written a book titled, “Amy Signs: A Mother and Her Deaf Daughter, and their Stories.”
