From September 21 to November 29, 2020, members of UNL and UNO’s campus communities will host Hostile Terrain 94 Nebraska (HT94), a “pop-up” participatory art exhibition that highlights the seriousness of the humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border and the policies that have contributed to that crisis. Rich, interdisciplinary programming around HT94 provides multiple forms of engagement with the exhibition and its themes. Programs will explore how the issue of migration affects both the U.S.-Mexico border and Nebraska communities. A global event, 150 HT94 exhibitions will open on five continents in 2020-2021. HT94 at Nebraska is unique to all venues; it is designed as an itinerant quilt that serves as a gesture of solace and comfort as well as a document of the crisis.
Hostile Terrain 94 will tour four sites on the UNL Campus in September and October. It will be installed in Omaha under the sponsorship of the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies-UNO. All venues are open to and welcome the public. Exhibition dates and locations are listed on the flyer below.
