Date:
6:00 pm
Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center
From the team behind THE INVISIBLE WAR comes a startling expose of rape crimes on U.S. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the brutal social toll on victims and their families. Weaving together verite footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows survivors as they pursue their education while fighting for justice—despite harsh retaliation, harassment and pushback at every level. The expert panel, who will hold a discussion after the screening, includes Holly Kearl, author of “Stop Street Harassment: Making Public Places Safe and Welcoming for Women”; Morgan B., UNL Victim Advocate; and Jamie Porter, PREVENT coordinator and representatives from UNLPD. This event is free and open to the public. (A Women’s Week 2016 Event.)
