Dr. Lampe is Professor and Associate Division Director in the Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington. Dr. Lampe’s research focuses on the effect of diet on cancer susceptibility in humans and the effects of human genetic and gut microbial variation on response. Her controlled feeding studies in humans, characterizing biochemical and physiologic responses to dietary constituents and dietary patterns, have provided a useful platform on which to better understand microbially-derived variation in dietary exposures and the impact on health.
Dr. Lampe has received several awards for her work, including the American Society for Nutrition Mary Swartz Rose Senior Investigator Award for research on the safety and efficacy of bioactive compounds for human health and the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Prevention Stars in Nutrition and Cancer award, which recognizes research contributions in the field of nutrition and cancer.
